Slovakia road projects – bidding opens, funding found

Bidding is underway in Slovakia for the R2 Krivan-Mytna expressway project, which is being handled by the local highway firm NDS. The deadline for bids opened in July 2018 and has been extended now for the second time. Bids will now be received until the 9th November 2018. Work is due to commence on the construction of a test stretch of electric highway in Germany. The innovative eHighway trial route will be built along a 5km stretch of the busy A1 Autobahn route from Reinfeld to Lübeck to the north of the German city of Hamburg. A new dual carriageway will connect the towns of Legnica and Lubawka in southern Poland. Funding for the project is being supplied by the EU in the shape of a subsidy worth €440.85 million. Romania is keen to develop its road network and is seeking EU funding to help pay for a series of major projects. One of the key projects being prioritised is for the new ring road around the capital Bucharest. Polish projects to go to tender

A series of important Polish road projects will be opening for tender shortly. In all the nine projects will be worth €603.3 million and stretch for a total of 138km. These project tenders will be announced by e Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) before the end of 2018. The work includes improvements to the DK 18 National Road as well as ring roads for the cities of Nowy Sacz, Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Zawiercie and Poreba.
Peru plan for transport upgrades

Peru has set a transport budget for 2019 that focuses on key projects. A loan facility has been secured which will help provide the necessary funding for a project planned by Waskita Toll Road in Indonesia. The loan is worth US$151.1 million and is being provided by a number of finance agencies. The bodies providing the financing package are Sarana Multi Infrastrukture and Bank Syariah Mandiri. The financing will be used by Waskita Toll Road’s Trans Jawa Paspro Jalan Tol division for a 31km toll road connecting Pasuruan with Probolinggo.
Funding secured for Indonesia road project

A funding package has been secured that will help pay for a major road project in Indonesia. The project forms part of the Trans-Sumatra toll road and the funding comes in the shape of a loan worth US$600.45 million, which is being supplied by Indonesia’s Bank Negara. Hutama karya will use the loan to help pay for its work on the Terbanggi to Kayu Agung stretch of the Trans Sumatra road project.
