Caterpillar has updated its hybrid crawler excavator, with the launch of the 336F H, incorporating Tier 4 Final power. The company claims that fuel savings of up to 30% are possible against the standard 336F excavator, despite the C9.3 engine achieving lower fuel consumption than the previous model. BOMAG is building a new North American headquarters in South Carolina

Work has started on a new facility for BOMAG Americas in South Carolina. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in Ridgeway, at the future site of the firm’s new North American headquarters. The new facility will house spare parts warehousing and a machine assembly area along with office space. Chinese firms are continuing to invest in their dozer ranges, particularly Shantui and XCMG. Shantui has now achieved full CE certification for its SD13YE model bulldozer, with this having been awarded by the German certification agency TUV Rhineland.
