Case makes an “Impact” with its new wheeled loader concept full of future technology

Case has developed a concept wheeled loader to showcase new and developing technologies. The “Impact” is fully electric and features Case’s semi-autonomous “click & dig” system, but the most notable thing about the machine it its silhouette - it has no cab. It has been designed for remote operation.

“We can imagine in the future that we can drive the machine fully automatically from a kind of site control lounge,” explained Fabrizio Cepollina, head of construction for EMEA Case. “It could be interesting for dangerous areas such as demolition.”

Caterpillar’s improved D8 dozer

The latest version of Caterpillar’s successful D8 bulldozer comes with an array of advanced technologies that the firm says are designed to provide faster more accurate results. Power comes from a Cat C15 engine that provides an increase in power to 271kW, boosting performance for a wide range of dozing, ripping and grading tasks. The engine is Stage V/Tier 4 Final compliant and drives through a fully automatic four-speed transmission with Lock-up Clutch (LUC) torque divider.

Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe is launching the HX19e, its first battery electric mini excavator.

The new model weighs in at 2,296kg when equipped with a full cab and large capacity battery pack. Hyundai CEE says the compact machine will provide the ideal digging solution for urban utilities, landscaping and gardening, tunnel and basement excavation and for many local authority tasks, such as cemeteries and sports facilities.

Hyundai Construction Equipment claims that its powerful mid-weight dozer delivers best-in-class power and tractive effort, precise grading and a range of smart technologies. 

The new HD130 offers fully electrohydraulic controls and 2D blade dozing assist function as standard. It also has a narrow nose with inline pre-cleaner and large windows for high visibility, as well as a 117kW engine providing best-in-class power output. The tiling cab allows access to major driveline components while the durable undercarriage offers long service life

Develon launches new tunnelling excavator

Develon has launched the DX235RTF-7 tunnelling excavator, an extension to the company’s line-up of special application machines.

The DX235RTF-7 is based on Develon’s well-established DX235LCR-7 reduced radius crawler excavator and is powered by a DL06V Stage V engine, providing 141kW of power. The DX235RTF-7 uses the successful compact design and minimum swing radius of the DX235LCR-7. However, the key part of the machine is the heavy duty tunnelling front, offering a new arm and boom design with special kinematics and a tilting function.
