UK launch for BOMAG paver

BOMAG's new BF 600P, a 17tonne asphalt paving machine ideal for jobs up to 6.85m, has been launched in the UK. With a maximum production rate of 600tonnes/ hour, its launch coincides with the introduction of a new two-year warranty for BOMAG pavers bought in the UK. The completely new BF 600P was designed and developed by BOMAG Alfonsine (Italy), and the first machine in the UK went straight to work on customer demonstrations around the UK.

The highway is being built by Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, known as the Maghreb region (in Arabic: the West), as well as in Libya. Construction of the longest section, the one running through Algeria and extending over 1,200km, began in March 2007 and is scheduled due for completion shortly.

Huge investments are being made in major road construction projects for North Africa. The biggest is the 'Autoroute Transmaghrébine' highway, which is also Africa's largest ever road construction project. Once complete, the highway will connect the Maghreb states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya and will have a total length of 3,200km.
