Powerful and productive, the new Doosan breakers can be used in an array of difficult applications
The powerful and productive DXB breakers from 695 Doosan are said to suit a wide array of applications such as tunneling, secondary reduction, primary winning and demolition. Simple and robust in design the units are said to offer low operating costs, low maintenance needs and a long working life. The wide range includes DXB30, DXB100, DXB170, DXB190 and DXB260 models, which cover carriers from compact machines such as mini-excavators and skid-steer loaders to large excavators. The breakers feature an energy recovery system and a patented valve system, increasing overall performance. Other features include a high quality piston and cylinder manufactured to precise tolerances and an advanced damping system to protect against blank firing. The compact DXB30 weighs 250kg and suits compact carriers from 3.5-7tonnes. The Doosan DXB170 weighs 1.6tonnes and is suitable for 18-28tonne excavators, while the 2.45tonne DXB260 breaker is designed for use on 27-37tonne excavators.

Long reach excavators now dominate the demolition sector - Mike Woof reports The last 10-15 years have seen the way demolition work is carried out change dramatically. Safety issues have long been of concern in the demolition sector, with the industry having been criticised for not doing enough to protect its workforce. Demolition projects can be dangerous due to the very nature of the job, with old structures being knocked down and broken up on-site. There is a substantial risk to site workers from

The skid steer loader has for many years been known as a jack-of-all-trades. Indeed the term loader can be a bit misleading, as a skid steer is far more than simply a digging or lifting machine. Skid steers, and their more recent compact tracked loader stablemates, are the original powered tool carriers. They are designed to work with a host of attachments, not just a bucket or pallet forks. However while this concept of one base machine and a multitude of attachments has been a big success in North America
