Driving along the centre double line, the skid steer loader is used to remove the reflective pavement markers from the asphalt and pop them into the 1.5m bucket. To boost performance, contractor Payco's industrial team developed a modification to the skid steer loader with a plate welded to the front bucket edge. As a result, the MC115C removes the reflectors efficiently at high speeds.
The machine has proven itself tough enough to cope with the shock of popping markers from the pavement. And satisfied with the skid steer loader’s performance, Payco recently added a second Volvo MC115C to the fleet to grind off thermoplastic striping from roadways during relining projects.
