The machine is also said to be highly versatile, as well as offering precise control and low fuel consumption.  Strong and durable, the EC55D is said to offer high uptime and can cope with extreme conditions. Robust in design, the machine has a heavy-duty arm and X-shaped undercarriage for greater stability. Its counterweight shields the engine compartment and also protects the rear of the machine.

Power comes from a D2.6 Volvo diesel delivering 36.5kW and which meets Stage V/Tier 4 Final emissions requirements. Machine weight varies from 5.4-5.7tonnes depending on specification and whether a cab or canopy is selected.
