Simex now offers a powerful wheel saw attachment for excavators

This is the biggest rock wheel in the firm’s range and the new unit is designed to be fitted to excavators weighing from 50-75tonnes.

The new unit features proven technology from other models in the range, which includes the slightly more compact RWE 60. This cutter has been designed for carrying out set-section cuts on hard and compact surfaces, such as concrete and rock. Two high-displacement radial piston motors power the saw and the unit features direct drive, which delivers high torque and maximum cutting force. The cutter is said to suit applications in cut and break demolition work or for underwater duties down to a depth of 30m.

Working depths vary according to the mounting configuration utilised and are of 800mm, 900mm and 1000mm. Cutting widths also vary and can be 130mm, 180mm or 200mm.
