Komatsu has fitted new low emission engines to its wheeled excavators

The machines also benefit from new features such as smart safety initiatives, better travel performance and controllability, ease of servicing and a proven Komatsu aftertreatment system.

The new engines in both the PW148-11 and PW158-11 deliver 20kW more power than the units fitted to Komatsu’s previous models, while a Komatsu diesel particle filter is fitted as standard. Higher productivity combined with lower fuel consumption and faster uphill travel speed are claimed.

Other improvements include the option to fit a tilt rotator, a more ergonomic steering wheel, an automatic digging brake option, and an improved premium air-suspended operator seat with integrated joystick consoles.

The machines are offered as standard with the Komtrax machine and fleet monitoring management and the Komatsu Care maintenance programme.
