Atlas Copco’s new light towers are said to offer high output and high efficiency, with low fuel consumption
Atlas Copco now offers seven models in its mobile HiLight tower range. The HiLight range comprises of the H5+, B5+, V5+ and E3+ LED light towers, plus the V4, H4 and E2 metal halide variants. Four of the models benefit from efficient LED solutions.

161 Atlas Copco’s latest LED light towers feature a novel, fully directional optic lens that maximises practical light coverage while minimising dark spots. A top-of-the-range LED light tower can illuminate an area of up to 5,000m2 with an average brightness of 20lux. In doing so, the LED light towers, depending on the model, offer a run time between refuelling of 260 hours and consume less than 0.5litres of fuel/hour.

The firm said that the savings are achieved by dedicated power packs that optimise power output and improve efficiency. These controls prevent underloading of the engine, increasing the life of the power pack modules on the LED units. The LED lamps are designed for both portability and performance. The heavy-duty floodlights benefit from high ingress protection (IP) and impact protection (IK) ratings. The firm said that LED lamps offer higher durability without deterioration in lux level, while providing instant light. LED HiLight models also minimise the need for bulb replacements and reduce CO2 emissions by 70% by consuming less fuel.

Suited to use on large construction sites, the latest edition to the range is the HiLight H5+, which offers also low fuel consumption. With four LED lamps each projecting 350W of light, the HiLight H5+ can illuminate an area of 5,000m2, offering the best luminosity. Easy to transport, the model’s compact size means that 10 units can be moved on a standard 13m truck.

The HiLight B5+ model is recommended for applications including music and sporting events, residential construction, road construction, temporary public lighting and oil and gas requirements. Demonstrating Atlas Copco’s latest LED technology, the lamps offer exceptional durability without any loss in lux levels. The vertical hydraulic mast provides maximum safety for workers by illuminating an area of up to 5,000m2. The B5+ model features a compact box-unit design, which makes it perfect for mass transportation and easy installation. Consuming less than 0.5litres of fuel per hour, the B5+ has a running time between refuelling of 260 hours.

Also in the new range are the HiLight V5+, the HiLight V4 and the HiLight E2 and E3+ electric models.

High throughput and long wear life are claimed by Atlas Copco for its latest bucket crusher attachments. The new BC 2500 and BC 3700 are said to offer higher output and better reliability than previous models. The new units can process up to 80% more material than earlier designs due to new hydraulic drives. The BC 2500 is suited to carriers weighing from 24-33tonnes while the larger BC 3700 can be fitted to excavators weighing from 30-42tonnes. The firm claims that the new bucket crushers allow cont

Sun Valley Lighting has developed an efficient, long-life lighting package for its successful turn-of-the-century streetlights. These can now be equipped with VLED optical modules for energy-efficient LED performance. The VLED modules use Philips/Lumileds Luxeon Rebel emitters and are said to deliver full-spectrum illumination while minimising light pollution and glare. The firm offers an array of traditional-styled luminaires with VLED modules, including the lantern-style Sigma fixture. The VLED module ref
