The new Trenchlink system is said to allow faster and more efficient utilities works or road repairs. The system comprises interlocking, ductile iron, skid-resistant road plates and is designed to cover utility trenches without the need for a temporary asphalt cover. According to the manufacturer, Trenchlink increases the productivity of roadworks teams as it secures utility trenches quickly and safely, saving time, materials and money.

The supplier, Actavo, says that time can be saved as Trenchlink makes the road immediately passable and is able to bear loads of up to 44tonnes. It also allows teams to quickly resume work without having to remove temporary asphalt surfaces from trenches. This is advantageous for the contractor, often working within restricted hours enforced by local authorities, as well as for drivers. Trenchlink is said to be highly versatile and is available in widths from 300mm to 500mm.
