233 Hitachi CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY (Europe)/(HCME) has expanded its popular range of mini excavators with the introduction of the ZX27-3, a model which is said to be
easily transportable, and to offer improved handling, comfort and safety.

Joep van den Maagdenberg, HCME product sales manager Compact Line (EMEA), said: "The ZX27-3 is a highly versatile machine and is suitable for a broad range of applications, including utilities and general groundworks. Like all Zaxis minis, it is easy to operate and this model is the largest Hitachi that can be transported by trailer under a normal EU driving licence. It is an excellent all-round performer and we are confident that it will be well received by our European customers." The ZX27-3 is equipped with a powerful and efficient 19.1kW engine, which provides enhanced performance while still meeting strict EU environmental regulations.

The new Zaxis is also said to be highly productive thanks to its strong digging force and fast front speed, while the inclusion of swing parking and travel brakes enables improved operation on inclined terrain and within confined spaces. Its cab has a large seat with adjustable back rest and is equipped with suspension to provide a comfortable working environment.

Fingertip control, multifunction, short-stroke levers have been ergonomically designed to help reduce operator fatigue. The changeover switch has been moved to the blade lever so that the operator can check its position without disrupting operation, and improved safety features include a cab top guard, designed to be fully compliant with worldwide safety standards. An optional theft deterrent system, which helps to prevent illegal operation or vandalism, can be fitted.

The ZX27-3 benefits from the use of highly durable and reinforced components in its manufacture, and has a machine weight of 2.7tonnes, when equipped with 2.1m boom, 300mm rubber tracks and 0.065m3 bucket.
