Bobcat was due to unveil its new TR50210 rotary telescopic handler and high horsepower TL470HF telescopic handlers for the first time at the Vertikal Days Exhibition at Haydock Park, Merseyside, north-west England from 27-28 June.

The rotating capability of the new telehandlers range is said to allow the machines to serve the needs of an entire site from just one position.

Capable of being set up in a matter of minutes, they are described as offering exceptional stability for lifting heavy materials either vertically up to a roof or horizontally onto the edge of an excavated site, reducing construction time and costs and increasing safety and efficiency on site.

The new TR50210 model (pictured) offers 360° rotation, with a maximum lifting capacity of 5,000kg and a maximum lifting height on stabilisers of 20.5m. It is one of four rotary telescopic handlers now available from 1130 Bobcat offering maximum lift capacities from 3.5 to 5tonnes and maximum lifting heights from 15.7m to 24.5m.

They complement the existing range of 12 rigid frame telehandlers from Bobcat with lift capacities from 2.2 to 4tonnes and lift heights from 5.2m to 17.4m.

The smallest rotary model, the TR35160, offers a maximum lifting height of 15.7m and features a two-section telescopic boom, whilst the larger TR45190 and TR40250 models, like the TR50120 telescopic handler, have three-section booms, offering maximum lifting heights of 18.7m and 24.5m, respectively.

Said by Bobcat to be equally adept for rough terrain applications in the building, civil engineering and industrial markets, the rotary telehandlers can be supplied with a variety of Bobcat attachments, including man platforms, extension jibs, buckets and pallet forks for transporting bricks and other materials.  Equipped with these attachments, the Bobcat rotary telehandlers offer all the operational advantages of a rigid-frame telescopic handler combined with a light and versatile rotating crane.

The latest rigid frame telehandler from Bobcat, the new TL470HF 7m model is powered by the 97.5 kW (130 HP) 299 Perkins 1104D-E44TA diesel engine.

Combined with a new load sensing pump delivering a hydraulic flow of 190/min, the TL470HF is also said to offer faster cycle times at a lower engine speed when performing both single and combined boom movements. This helps to reduce fuel consumption and improve efficiency.

The TL470HF telescopic handler has a maximum lift capacity of 3.5tonnes and a maximum lift height of 7m. The capacity at full lift height is 3tonnes, while the maximum forward reach is 4,002mm and the lift capacity at full reach is 1,500kg.
Together with the standard TL360 and TL470 models, the new TL470HF telescopic handler is part of a new generation of Bobcat 6 and 7m telehandlers.

Each new generation telehandler has a patented asymmetric cab offering an unobstructed view across the rear of the machine.
