Australia’s Victoria State is setting out plans for upgrade work to the historic Great Ocean Road. Improvements costing US$198 million (A$272.4 million) will be carried out to the road, as well as some link roads running inland.

The work was carried out as part of a programme to provide jobs. This historic route is popular with tourists as it winds along the coastline and provides access to some of the most scenic areas of Victoria State.
