Serbia projects due for completion

Work is pushing ahead with the construction of the Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 highway projects in Serbia. Sections of the highway projects will be opened to traffic in 2017. All of Corridor 10 will be ready for use while the Obrenovac to Preljina stretch of Corridor 11 will open. Other road projects will commence including links running through Moravski and Fruskogorski. Work is pushing ahead with the construction of the Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 highway projects in Serbia. Sections of the highway projects will be opened to traffic in 2017.     The Serbian government has reported that it is planning to sign a loan agreement with China's Exim Bank for new loans worth US$ 1.1 billion for construction of the Corridor 11 motorway. Minister of Finance, Mladan Dinkic, said that the loan will be used for construction of the Belgrade-Ljig and Pojate Preljina motorway parts. The contract agreement is due to be signed by the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013. Works are expected to start sometime next year.

    Construction is on track for Serbia’s Nis-Dimitrovgrad motorway Corridor 10 project. The construction work of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad stretch is due for completion by the end of 2015. The whole Corridor 10 project should be ready by the end of 2016. The Greek construction firm Actor has the €160 million main contract for the project.     A new six lane highway connection in Pakistan is expected to be complete in 36 months. A Chinese firm, China State Construction Engineering, is to handle the project for the 393km highway, which runs from Sukkur to Multan. Financing for the project is being provided by the Chinese Government and the work is expected to cost close to US$2.8 billion in all.
