Paraguay road tenders being planned

A series of tenders for major road projects is planned in Paraguay during 2016. The country's Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will launch tenders with a total value of US$2.27 billion. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications will prioritise works including construction of the first stretch of the Bioceanic corridor, La Costanera Sur road and the 147km-long export corridor. A series of tenders for major road projects is planned in Paraguay during 2016. The country's Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will launch tenders with a total value of US$2.27 billion. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications will prioritise works including construction of the first stretch of the Bioceanic corridor, La Costanera Sur road and the 147km-long export corridor. The plans call for projects worth some $1.8 billion to go to tender in the first half of 2016. These projects will include widening the Ruta 2 and Ruta 7 highways from two to four lanes, rebuilding Ruta 9 between Remanso and Mariscal Estigarribia and also upgrades to Silvio Pettirossi airport, in the Central Department.

    Financing has been found for road repairs and rebuilding in Paraguay. A series of planned projects will see roads and bridge being refurbished and rebuilt.     Sacyr subsidiary Sacyr Concesiones is leading a consortium to will build and operate the Road 2 and Road 7 routes in Paraguay. The Road 2 route will connect Asunción and Coronel Oviedo.
