New Brazilian highway tender opening

The tender process is opening for a highway project in Brazil's southern Paraná State. The project will be carried out under the PPP model and the deal is worth some US$3.21 billion. The tender process is opening for a highway project in Brazil's southern Paraná State. The project will be carried out under the PPP model and the deal is worth some US$3.21 billion. The package of works necessary will require widening, improving, maintaining and operating state highway PR-323 as well as a number of adjacent roads. The package is for a 30-year concession and involves widening 207km of highway between the towns of Paiçandu and Francisco Alves in the northeast of the state, according to a report by Business News Americas. The route is 220km long in total between the city of Maringá and the town of Francisco Alves, and is composed of three state highways, PR-323, PRC-487 and PRC-272. The project also involves building side roads and bike paths in urban areas, as well as 19 overpasses, 22 underpasses, 13 pedestrian walkways and nine bridges. The tender winner will be based on the lowest monthly concession payment requested as well as the lowest tollbooth rate.
