Mexico’s infrastructure plans for Michoacan State

Mexico’s Federal Government has allocated close to US$1 billion for a programme of key infrastructure works. The plan includes 80 infrastructure works in the state of Michoacan. Key work carried out so far includes building 100km of rural roads as well as the Cuitzeo-Patzcuaro highway, which is close to completion. The 64km highway connects Mexico-Guadalajara motorway with Lazaro Cardenas port.

  • Mexican highway projects underway

    The Mexico’s Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) has confirmed that a total of 1,474 road infrastructure contracts were granted in the first half of 2015. This work is costing in the region of US$1.02 billion. A total of 74% of these contracts were awarded to Mexican companies, whilst 26% corresponded to foreign firms. SCT informed that 31 projects were concluded so far in 2015 and added that 12 additional initiatives were expected to be completed by the end of the year.

  • Planned highway upgrade for Mexico’s Sonoro State

    Plans are in hand to upgrade a major highway in Mexico’s Sonoro state. A budget of US$1.6 billion has been set in place for the necessary work. The highway will be widened and will feature two traffic lanes in either direction once the work is complete. The plans for the project have been set out by Mexico’s Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT).
