Argentina’s Transport Ministry has said that the project will be funded by the Federal Government. A second stretch of Route 40 will also be widened and upgraded in the future, with this project being carried out in two phases. The project for the first of these phases is due to go to tender in early 2018 while the second will be put to tender in the third quarter of 2018. Meanwhile a project worth over $158 million is being planned for the Route 33 stretch between Rosario and Rufino. The tender for the 268km road widening and improvement programme is expected to be awarded in July 2017, with construction then commencing in the following month.
