Indonesia toll roads being built

Key highway projects are being planned for Indonesia. The Indonesian firm Wijaya Karya (Wika) will work on three toll road projects in the country worth just over US$922 million. The projects are for the Samarinda-Balikpapan, Manado-Bitung and the Soreang-Pasirkoja routes. The firm hopes to fund the projects using a mix of state and private funding. Key highway projects are being planned for Indonesia. The Indonesian firm 5207 Wijaya Karya (Wika) will work on three toll road projects in the country worth just over US$922 million. The projects are for the Samarinda-Balikpapan, Manado-Bitung and the Soreang-Pasirkoja routes. The firm hopes to fund the projects using a mix of state and private funding. Meanwhile the toll road operator 1083 Jasa Marga is working on securing the funding it needs to finance work on the Kertosono-Ngawi-Solo section of the Transjava Highway. The construction of the 177km section of the Transjava Highway is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.

    Indonesia’s proposed US$914.8 million (IDR 8.97tn) 177km Solo-Mantingan-Kertosono toll road is to be developed under the public private partnership (PPP) scheme with Theis Contractors Indonesia, according to Rido Matari Ichwan, head of planning and public works at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project will be receiving loans from China amounting to $300 million. Construction is expected to start by end of 2013.
