Indonesia is setting a massive infrastructure budget in place. Some US$29.52 billion will be invested in infrastructure under the 2017 budget. The country is planning to construct around 550km of new bridges and 9,400km of new roads.
China’s Guizhou Province is setting out a massive budget for road expansion to boost access to rural areas. This will see the construction of some 50,000km of roads in 2018. In all US$3.15 billion is being spent on road development. So far 35,000km of road projects are underway in Guizhou Province with nearly 9,400km of road jobs already having been completed. By the end of the second quarter of 2018, all of the planned projects within this programme of works will be underway or complete.
A massive programme of transport infrastructure development is planned by Indonesia’s current administration. A budget of US$27.38 billion has been set for this work in 2019, an increase of 1% from the budget set for 2018. Work will be carried out to improve and/or upgrade 2,007km of roads and 27,067km of bridges under the plans. The programme also calls for the construction of four near airports and improvements to 415km of rail lines, as well as other infrastructure improvements.
Indonesia is planning a massive development of its infrastructure, with transport being a key priority. The 2020 budget at $27.64 billion is 4.9% greater than the $26.37 billion set for 2019. The largest portion of the budget will be used for road building, with plans to expand the major road network by 837km, a significant jump from the 406km of roads for 2019. Indonesia’s government has set an impressive 2018 budget of some US$30.72 billion to develop infrastructure in the country. The funding will be split between the Ministry of Public Housing and Works, the Ministry of Transportation and for the special allocation fund. The Indonesian Government is aiming to boost economic growth during 2018 through its infrastructure development programme.
