However following a series of disagreements over the work being carried out as well as the spiralling cost, financing, legal problems and various technical issues, the construction of the tunnel has finally ground to a halt. Czech construction firm Metrostav has said that it will not restart work. Metrostav is looking for a payment of €78.43 million from Prague City Council before it will restart its activity on the tunnel. Some work will be carried out by Czech construction firm CKD Praha DIZ in the mean-time. The cost of the project has spiralled and was originally estimated at €948 million but is now expected to exceed €1.31 billion.
