Bosnia-Serbia highway project faces delays

Delays look set to hold back construction work on the planned highway that will connect Bosnia with Serbia. The route will join Bosnia’s capital Sarajevo with Bosnia’s capital Belgrade when it is complete.

Delays look set to hold back construction work on the planned highway that will connect Bosnia with Serbia. The route will join Bosnia’s capital Sarajevo with Bosnia’s capital Belgrade when it is complete. Further discussions will be carried out between the authorities in Bosnia and Serbia in due course to try to cement the plans for the highway. Funding for the project could be supplied, in part at least, from Turkey.

  • JP Autoceste eyes 2020 as completion date for Bosnia’s Corridor 5c

    Around two-thirds of the Corridor 5c motorway project is expected to be completed by 2020, according to the director of the Bosnian motorways company JP Autoceste. Jasmin Buco said that 120km out of 337km of the motorway are complete. The corridor section, to connect Budapest with Ploce port in Croatia, is taking the most time. He said that the cost of the remaining part of the motorway is expected to be around €2.81 billion.

  • Progress is being made with Serbia’s Corridor 11 highway project

    Work is underway in Serbia for the Corridor 11 highway project and a number of local firms are now carrying out construction work on the Corridor 11 section from Ub to Lajkovac. Meanwhile Azvirt from Azerbaijan is preparing the Ljig to Preljina stretch of the highway, with the €300 million work being financed by Azerbaijan.   • Construction of Serbia’s Corridor 10 highway on-track

    Construction work on the Lajkovac-Ljig and Obrenovac-Ub sections of Serbia’s Corridor 10 highway are said to be on-track. The stretch will be completed by April 2017 and when the section opens to traffic, it will help reduce journey times with the drive from Belgrade to Zlatibor taking just 90 minutes. He said that delays on the road are not expected. The project value has not been disclosed.
