Bangladesh highway widening project to commence shortly

Widening work for a key highway link in Bangladesh will commence shortly. The work will be carried out on the 41km link from the Akhaura logistics centre to the river port of Ashungaj.

Widening work for a key highway link in Bangladesh will commence shortly. The work will be carried out on the 41km link from the Akhaura logistics centre to the river port of Ashungaj. The project is costing in excess of US$441 million. Completion of the work is expected in 2020. Much of the funding necessary for the construction work will come from India.

    Construction of Vietnam’s North-South expressway is planned to commence during 2019. An initial funding package of US$600 million will pay for the start of the works, which includes buying the land and clearing the way for the route.
