Speedy launches new catalogue - print, online and app

UK-based equipment hire specialist Speedy has launched a new catalogue, including an app, for 2016 with more than 2,800 products and services across over 25 categories. The app is available on iPhone, Android and Windows Phone. UK-based equipment hire specialist Speedy has launched a new catalogue, including an app, for 2016 with more than 2,800 products and services across over 25 categories.

The app is available on iPhone, Android and Windows Phone. Features of the new app include a product search by keyword or code, complete product detail, including pricing and images as well as a local depot locator.

Russell Down, Speedy’s chief executive, said that by reducing the catalogue by 96 pages and changing to a more sustainable paper stock, 12.5tonnes of paper have been saved during manufacturing and 11.1tonnes of paper saved in the finished copies for distribution.

Founded in 1977, Speedy also provides support services such as training, asset management and compliance services. Speedy is accredited nationally to ISO50001, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001.     A methane-powered bus has set a speed record for a regular city bus of nearly 124km/h at a test track in the UK, according to media reports. The bus, from the southern city of Reading, was converted to run on compressed methane from cow manure and was painted black and white like a Friesian cow. Mechanics removed the bus’s engine governor that restricted the vehicle’s speed to 90km/h.
