A-Plant: moving up with more telehandlers
Following substantial investment in its telehandler fleet, UK plant hire company 6264 A-Plant has nearly 1,600 machines from 4m to 18m, at an average age of under two years.

A-Plant’s telehandlers have been purchased from JCB and other leading manufacturers to provide machines that meet Stage IIIB/Tier 4 emissions regulations. The telehandlers are also equipped with the latest in telematics technology.

Director of purchasing and fleet management at A-Plant, Andrew Winlow, said A-Plant’s customers have added security through tracking. They also can monitor machine usage and even set up automated alerts if the hired machines exceed site speed limits or are moved out of a specified geographic zone. “At a cost of nearly €79 million it makes us the go-to hire company for telehandler hire,” he said.

“We have even more investment planned in the coming months. Orders will be placed to increase the fleet size further, plus our reach is increasing with 20m telehandlers being added to the range.”

A-Plant forms part of FTSE 100 company Ashtead Group and has more than 140 service centres in the UK. Equipment available to hire includes plant, tools, formwork and falsework, survey equipment, power generation, traffic management, accommodation units, access equipment as well as lifting and materials handling.
