ENKA Pazarlama has been serving the Turkish market with Hitachi excavators, wheel loaders and crawler cranes since 1981. The new 12,000m² development is the latest addition to the Turkish dealer's branch network, which includes a number of regional offices, service centres and sub-dealers. Founded in 1972 ENKA Pazarlama is a sub-division of the larger global organisation, ENKA Construction & Industry. The first Hitachi excavator arrived in Turkey in 1980 and was used on a Saudi Arabian development project by another company of ENKA Construction & Industry. It was so impressed by the quality of the machine that it decided to add Hitachi excavators to its portfolio of products available for export to sister companies working in the construction industry. The potential of the Turkish market also then became apparent.

ENKA Pazarlama has enjoyed massive growth since it was established as a sub-division in 1976. Turnover has doubled over the past few years and early signs indicate that this trend is set to continue. In addition to importing and distributing construction machinery, it added trucks and trailers to its product line-up in the early 1990s.

The new Ankara depot replaces three smaller offices previously owned in the city by ENKA Pazarlama. The expansion was necessary to service the requirements of the increasing number of Hitachi customers working in the region. More space was required for after-sales facilities, parts storage and servicing.

The company opted to have new premises designed and built close to a well-known industrial zone, where many large construction companies also have their head offices.

An official opening ceremony was held on Friday 9 May to mark the launch of the new depot, which replaces three smaller offices that the company owned in Turkish capital.

Director of the HCME Sales and Service Division, Hironori Okajima, was one of the guests of honour at a well-attended official opening ceremony. He was accompanied by the key personnel from the HCME Middle East liaison office in Istanbul.

He said: "It is a great honour to be part of this opening. We appreciate the great efforts of ENKA Pazarlama through which we have managed to increase sales of Hitachi construction machinery and parts in Turkey. We thank them for their continuous investment and truly hope that we can achieve future growth together."
