Work is due to commence shortly on key sections of Vietnam’s massive North-South Expressway project. The construction work will start on three sub-projects of the route’s Eastern cluster by the end of September 2020.

Included in these three sub-projects are 13 civil work packages. The works are for the stretches between Phan Thiet and Dau Giay, Mai Son and National Highway No 45 and Vinh Hao and Phan Thiet. There are 11 sub projects in all for the Eastern Cluster of the North-South Expressway project, which extends 654km and has an estimated value of US$5.06 billion.

Meanwhile, the tender process is also underway for a further five sub-projects, with the winners due to be selected in December 2020.

The project is expected to cost in the region of US$13.9 billion to construct and looks likely to be built using a PPP model.
