Work on Slovakia’s Presov bypass could start in spring 2016

Construction of the €356 million Presov motorway bypass should start in the spring, according Arpad Ersek, Slovakia’s minister for transport. However, no contract has been finalised with the winner of the tender, the consortium of Metrostav Slovakia, Metrostav, Doprastav, and Eurovia.

    APPROVAL HAS now been given for work to go ahead on a key section of Slovakia’s D1 highway. The work had been delayed as the European Commission (EC) was concerned over environmental issues facing sections of the route that passed through a nature reserve.     Slovakia’s motorway company NDS has selected a consortium led by Metrostav of the Czech Republic to build a 13.5km stretch of the R3 The cost of the R3 carriageway between Mytna and Tomasovce in the region of Lucenec will be just under €128 million.
