Vietnam’s key North-South Expressway project

International interest is strong in Vietnam’s landmark North-South Expressway project. French, Japanese and South Korean firms are amongst those showing an interest in building sections of the 2,100km route. Vietnamese contractors are also showing interest in the project and the tender process for the latest stretches will remain open until 9th July.

    The completion date has been announced for sections of Vietnam’s key road project. The North-South Expressway project is being built in eight stretches with the work being handled under the PPP model.     The proposed north-south highway project in Vietnam is gaining traction, with financing options now being considered. The Vietnamese Government is investigating a suggestion by the country’s central bank that local funding could pay for the building of the 1,372km route. However securing financing from the private sector for major projects has become more difficult in recent times.
