Texas State Highway and Interstate rebuild plan

Major road improvement work is now being scheduled in Texas, for key sections of State Highway 67 and Interstate 35E. A budget of US$666 million has been set for the work. The work will form part of the new Southern Gateway project, due for completion towards the end of 2021.

  • Road rebuilding for key PNG route

    In Papua New Guinea (PNG) work is now commencing on two key road projects wortha total of US$263 million. Chinese contractors have been awarded the deals to build a four-lane road between Nadzab and Lae and a a 20km road between Kagual Bridge and Kisenopoi Junction. China Railway International (CRI) and China Machinery Engineering Corp (CMEC) will carry out the two projects respectively. Both projects are sections of the Highland Highway with work scheduled to commence in late-2013 to early-2014.

  • Planning Netherland's underground highways

    The first agreements for Amsterdam’s proposed underground highway have now been reached. These have been made by the Dutch Minister for the Environment and Transport as well as Amsterdam local authority and the province of North-Holland. Under the agreed terms, the A10 highway will feature 12 lanes of traffic in four 1.2km tunnels under the capital, Amsterdam. The project will also include building metro and rail lines underground.

  • OHL and Astaldi win California highway contract

    Contractors OHL and Astaldi has won a major portion of a large highway project in California. The work is for the upgrade to I-405 in Los Angeles and is valued at US$ 1.2 billion. The two firms will work in a joint venture on the project. OHL has a 60% stake in the project while Astaldi holds the remaining 40% share. The deal represents a positive move for Astaldi, which is keen to develop its presence in the western US. The six year contract requires the design and construction of the improvement works
