Strabag wins Polish road contract

Austrian contractor Strabag has won a stake in a design and build road contract in Poland. The project is worth a total of €133 million and involves building a section of highway carrying three lanes in either direction. The firm will work on the project to build another stretch of the A1 highway in Poland. The 17km long Section C begins at the Kamieńsk junction and ends at Radomsko, where the construction of a motorway interchange forms part of the order.

Austrian contractor 945 Strabag has won a stake in a design and build road contract in Poland. The project is worth a total of €133 million and involves building a section of highway carrying three lanes in either direction. The firm will work on the project to build another stretch of the A1 highway in Poland. The 17km long Section C begins at the Kamieńsk junction and ends at Radomsko, where the construction of a motorway interchange forms part of the order.


Strabag will hold a 92% stake in the consortium to build the link, with 3302 Budimex holding the rest of the share. Construction should start at the end of 2018 and is expected to take 32 months to complete. The project includes the construction of 16 bridges and three rest areas as well as other civils works. Strabag is already working on a design build contract for a 16km stretch of the A1 highway and will be able to carry over some of its knowledge for this latest deal.
