Strabag wins Polish A1 motorway deal for Wozniki-to-Pyrzowice section

Strabag consortium has signed a contract for construction of a 15.2km section of the A1 motorway between Wozniki and Pyrzowice. Completion of the section that will connect Pyrzowice with Czestochowa is due by the end of 2018. It is the first of four contracts signed for construction of the motorway. 945 Strabag consortium has signed a contract for construction of a 15.2km section of the A1 motorway between Wozniki and Pyrzowice.

Completion of the section that will connect Pyrzowice with Czestochowa is due by the end of 2018.

It is the first of four contracts signed for construction of the motorway. Strabag’s offer is believed to be around €144 million, while the budget set by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (1361 GDDKiA), was set just over €200 million.

Meanwhile, the S6 dual carriageway construction contract has gone to Przedsiebiorstwo Robot Mostowych.

The deal for a section between Goleniow and Koszalin is estimated to be worth more than €92.2 million, well below the €152 million budget set by the GDDKiA, according to media reports.

    Austrian construction giant Strabag reported output volume of €13.6 billion to year end 2014 was unchanged from last year. The publically listed group, with headquarters in Vienna, said declines in contracts in some countries were offset with increases in the home markets of Germany and Austria, despite a “very restrained tender award policy” for the public sector.
