Strabag wins Polish A1 motorway deal for Wozniki-to-Pyrzowice section

Strabag consortium has signed a contract for construction of a 15.2km section of the A1 motorway between Wozniki and Pyrzowice. Completion of the section that will connect Pyrzowice with Czestochowa is due by the end of 2018. It is the first of four contracts signed for construction of the motorway. 945 Strabag consortium has signed a contract for construction of a 15.2km section of the A1 motorway between Wozniki and Pyrzowice.

Completion of the section that will connect Pyrzowice with Czestochowa is due by the end of 2018.

It is the first of four contracts signed for construction of the motorway. Strabag’s offer is believed to be around €144 million, while the budget set by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (1361 GDDKiA), was set just over €200 million.

Meanwhile, the S6 dual carriageway construction contract has gone to Przedsiebiorstwo Robot Mostowych.

The deal for a section between Goleniow and Koszalin is estimated to be worth more than €92.2 million, well below the €152 million budget set by the GDDKiA, according to media reports.

    Poland’s highways directorate, GDDKiA, says 12 bids have been received for construction of the second section of the S7 dual carriageway. The 15km section will run from the Lesznowola junction to the Tarczyn Polnoc junction. Metrostav submitted the highest offer at €118 million, while the cheapest offer came from a consortium of Porr Polska Infrastructure and Porr Bau. Other bidders include others, Budimex, Intercor and Polaqua.

    Poland is planning to enter seven transport projects to the Connecting Europe Programme, with these having a combined value close to €2.86 billion. Among the planned projects are the S61 express road between the Lithuanian border and Augustow. Meanwhile STRABAG and Budimex have formed a consortium that will construct a 41km stretch of the A4 highway in Poland. The section of the route runs from Rzeszów to Jarosław, in south-eastern Poland. The project is expected to take 14 months to complete and the contra
