The road around Bacau, with a population of more than 200,000, will be integrated in the future A7 highway set to run north to south in the eastern region called Moldavia.

According to Romanian media, work on Bacau’s bypass was started in 2015 but quickly halted after disagreements with the Turkish contractor that had won the tender for the project.
