An ambitious plan for rebuilding 959km of Federal Roads will be carried out to improve transport for the Europe - West China route (EWC). This programme will continue until 2024. The work will include the construction of 12 city bypasses, 32 bridges and 21 new rail crossings. In all 150km of new highway will be built, while the plans call for the links to the new Crimean Strait Bridge to be improved.
Meanwhile in Moscow, the contractor Mostotrest has been the only firm to submit a bid in the tender process for rebuilding a number of roads in the city. The firm offered a bid of US$90.2 million for the work to rebuild a stretch of the Volokolamskoye Highway running between the Moscow Ring Road (MRR) to the Skhodnya River, as well as an interchange on the intersection between the highway and the MRR.
Also in Moscow, the III section of the Central Ring Road, CRR, in Moscow is now being opened to traffic first. According to head of Avtodor company, Sergey Kelbakh, it will be open to public in 2020.
