Romania receives upwards of 20 tenders for Craiova-Pitesti highway

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.


Both will be around 57km long and are estimated to be worth around €435 million.

Companies that have tendered include Astaldi, Vahostav, Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret, the joint venture (JV) Constructii Erbasu - Vahostav SK - Trameco, Secol Societa Edile Costruzioni e Lavori SA - Secol Romania - Tirrena Scavi JV and Spedition UMB - Tehnostrade - Consitrans JV.

The Craiova-Pitesti highway will have lanes be part of the Pan European Corridor IV.

    Austrian contractor Strabag has won a stake in a design and build road contract in Poland. The project is worth a total of €133 million and involves building a section of highway carrying three lanes in either direction. The firm will work on the project to build another stretch of the A1 highway in Poland. The 17km long Section C begins at the Kamieńsk junction and ends at Radomsko, where the construction of a motorway interchange forms part of the order.
