Romania receives upwards of 20 tenders for Craiova-Pitesti highway

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.


Both will be around 57km long and are estimated to be worth around €435 million.

Companies that have tendered include Astaldi, Vahostav, Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret, the joint venture (JV) Constructii Erbasu - Vahostav SK - Trameco, Secol Societa Edile Costruzioni e Lavori SA - Secol Romania - Tirrena Scavi JV and Spedition UMB - Tehnostrade - Consitrans JV.

The Craiova-Pitesti highway will have lanes be part of the Pan European Corridor IV.

The 11km stretch of the route will cost nearly €103 million to build. The work will be handled jointly by the Synohydro Power Company and China State Construction Engineering Company. The package of works was awarded by Bosnia’s motorway company, Autoceste Federacije BiH. A portion of the funding required is being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
