Romania receives upwards of 20 tenders for Craiova-Pitesti highway

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.


Both will be around 57km long and are estimated to be worth around €435 million.

Companies that have tendered include Astaldi, Vahostav, Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret, the joint venture (JV) Constructii Erbasu - Vahostav SK - Trameco, Secol Societa Edile Costruzioni e Lavori SA - Secol Romania - Tirrena Scavi JV and Spedition UMB - Tehnostrade - Consitrans JV.

The Craiova-Pitesti highway will have lanes be part of the Pan European Corridor IV.

  • EC approves €246 million for Targu Mures-Campia Turzii motorway

    The European Commission has approved €246 million towards construction of Romania’s Targu Mures-Campia Turzii section of the A 3motorway. The EC money for the 51km four-lane section is from the EC’s Cohesion Fund, according to a report by the Romania Journal. Bechtel was originally going to build most of the 603km A3 to connect Bucharest with the Transylvania region and the north-west part of the country.
