Record breaking Ritchie Bros. auction in Donington Park, UK

Industrial equipment auctioneer Ritchie Bros. reported its largest-ever UK auction was held in July, in Donington Park. More than 120 sellers put over 1,600 item on the block for the 900-plus bidders – all record levels, according to Ritchie Bros. Industrial equipment auctioneer 8031 Ritchie Bros. reported its largest-ever UK auction was held in July, in 4892 Donington Park.

More than 120 sellers put over 1,600 item on the block for the 900-plus bidders – all record levels, according to Ritchie Bros.

All items in the unreserved public auction at the motor racing circuit were sold without minimum bids or reserve prices. Bids were placed in person at the Donington Park auction site, live online via rbauction.com and by proxy.

Rupert Craven, sales director for the UK and Ireland, said the quality of equipment helped attract bidders from 50 countries. Around half of the equipment in the Donington Park auction was sold to buyers outside the UK. Online buyers purchased 40% of the equipment, he said.

Among equipment sold were 245 excavators, 145 compactors, 105 telescopic forklifts, more than 30 wheel loaders and an equal number of farm tractors.

Ritchie Bros.’ next auction in Donington Park will be this autumn.
