Preparations for Polish project – widening work

Widening work for Poland’s A2 highway will be carried out between the Lodz Polnoc Junction and Konotopa Junction. The 88km highway stretch will benefit from the addition of an extra lane in either direction. Between Polnoc and Pruszkow this will result in a third lane being added in either direction. The entire section will be concrete and includes two junctions, 17 bridges, several intersections and access roads, noise barriers and wildlife crossings.

    A series of road project tenders are being planned by Poland’s roads authority, GDDKiA. These are expected to open before the end of 2019 and will have a combined value of close to €2.8 billion in all. The project tenders will be for a total distance of 250km of road development works.
