Bidding is opening for the bridge project intended to connect Paraguay and Brazil.

Bidding is opening for the bridge project intended to connect Paraguay and Brazil. The bridge will span the Paraguay River, connecting Carmelo Peralta in Paraguay with Puerto Murthino in Brazil. The project will connect Route 267 in Brazil with the Py15 route in Paraguay. However the latter is a minor road and will have to be upgraded to allow it to carry the volumes of traffic anticipated.

    Proposals are expected for widening work to two major highways in Paraguay. In all seven consortia look likely to submit their proposals for the PPP widening project for Route 2 and Route 7.     Paraguay is in discussions with six out of 11 prequalified consortia after none of the 11 submitted bids for a major highway development.
