North Germany is planning a major road repair programme

In Germany North Rhine-Westphalia is planning a major programme of road repairs and maintenance works. Upgrading and widening work will also be carried out. A massive budget of €20 billion has been set for the work, which will be carried out on the key Autobahn and Bundesstrasse (highway and key trunk route) links in the area. In all, 200 projects are being planned for the state.

    A new programme of road repairs is intended to tackle problems on Melbourne’s roads. The Victorian State Government is financing works worth US$129 million (A$183 million) to around 200 road and bridge sections across the state, in a bid to improve road conditions.     A major highway widening and upgrade project is being carried out in the Netherlands in a bid to improve traffic flow on some of Europe’s busiest routes. SAAone is carrying out the work for the A1-A6 motorway project for Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management. A key component of the project is adding new lanes to the A1 and A6 highways.
