New Paraguay road links

New road links are planned for Paraguay.

A series of road projects will now be carried out in Paraguay. Funding for the works will be provided through the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). The US$235 million loan will be for work to improve 104km of roads in the Santa Cecilia, Campo Aceval, Paratodo and Lolita areas of Paraguay.

The IADB is providing $185 million of the finance package itself, with a further $50 million coming via South Korean sources over which the IADB has control.

Meanwhile, the tender process is opening for a 188km road project for an agricultural area. The work will cost an estimated $146.3 million. The tender process is being handled by Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

    Financing has been found for road repairs and rebuilding in Paraguay. A series of planned projects will see roads and bridge being refurbished and rebuilt. The Latin American Development Bank (CAF) will provide loans worth US$272 million for road and bridge repairs. A $50 million loan will be used to pay for work in the country’s Oriental region.
