New bridge project to be built in Argentina

A new bridge project is being planned in Argentina. The new link will connect Parana and Santa Fe. Rivers to be crossed between Parana and Sante Fe include the Parana River, the Colastine River and the Sante Fe River, although it is not yet clear which route will be used. The project is expected to cost from US$600-800 million. This will be included in the Argentinian Government’s 2019 budget. The tender process may commence in October 2018. The work will be carried out under the PPP model.

    A new bridge will be built in Russia’s North-West region. The bridge will span the Sheksna River at Cherepovets. The project is expected to cost US$247.5 million. Preparatory works will commence during 2019 and the approach roads to the link are being improved. The 1.13km bridge will be the longest in the Vologda Region and should be ready by 2022. A new 8km southern bypass for Cherepovets with three lanes in either direction will also be built as part of a wider plan to improve transport for the city.

    Construction has started on the €117 million bridge over the Danube River between the Hungarian town of Komarom and the Slovak town of Komarno. Around 85% of the cost will be covered by European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility. Completion is planned for winter 2019. Last summer it was announced that the Hungarian companies Hidepito and Meszaros es Meszaros had won the tender for the 600m bridge but with a price tag of just over €91 million, according to Hungarian media.
