Highway works are being planned in Morocco, with financing now being secured. The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing a loan worth US$103.6million, which will be used to pay for widening work on the highway connecting Casablanca and Berrechid, which lies to the south. This section of road is important for Morocco as it connects Casablanca with its international airport. The widening and improvement work is required on this stretch of route, which can suffer heavy congestion and delays at peak periods.

Other important highway works will also be carried out in Morocco, with the Société nationale des autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) having set out plans to improve 97km of roads during 2021 in all. This represents an increase on 70km of highways improved in Morocco during 2020.
