Malaysia to tender for more Pan Borneo sections

The Malaysian government will soon tender for three more sections of the 706km Pan Borneo Highway project in the state of Sabah. The Pan Borneo Highway - also known as Trans-Borneo Highway or Trans-Kalimantan Highway - is a road network on Borneo Island connecting the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak to the country of Brunei and Indonesia’s Kalimantan region. The 3491 Malaysian government will soon tender for three more sections of the 706km Pan Borneo Highway project in the state of Sabah.


The Pan Borneo Highway - also known as Trans-Borneo Highway or Trans-Kalimantan Highway - is a road network on Borneo Island connecting the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak to the country of Brunei and Indonesia’s Kalimantan region. The length of the section within the Malaysian states is likely to be just under 2,100km.

The Bruneian section is 168km and the Indonesian section will slightly less than 3,100km.

Borneo Highway PDP is a government-appointed project delivery partner (PDP) company to implement Phase 1 of Pan Borneo Highway Sabah. BHP’s functions are to implement, supervise, manage and deliver the project within the time and cost allocated.

The project involves widening existing roads to dual-lane dual carriageway and building some coastal roads and bypasses. All work along the 706kkm is expected to be finished by December 2021.
