Loan agreed for Paraguay road projects

A loan has been agreed for road projects in Paraguay.

A loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) has been approved, which will pay for road projects in Paraguay. The US$235 million loan will pay for a series of road projects that have been planned by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

Over the next four years, 104km of road stretches will be improved. These include the road connecting Cruce Pioneros and Paratodo.

The IADB is providing $185 million. A further $50 million is being provided by a fund form South Korea.

    Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) is this year said to be planning to invest US$500 million in the South American country’s roads.
