Lane will be making improvements to the Interstate I-440/US 1 Wake County from south of Walnut Street to north of Wade Avenue. Around 10.5km of the highway - referred to locally as the Raleigh Beltline - will be widened from four lanes to six lanes.

The work involves replacing pavement and bridges and upgrading interchanges and is expected to start in early 2019 and be completed by mid-2023.

Lane has also recently won work on section 8 of the Wekiva Parkway in mid-Florida, the I-10 Corridor Contract 1 Express Lanes in California and the widening of I-85 in South Carolina.

This past summer Salini Impregilo sold the plants and paving division of its Lane business to Eurovia for around $555 million. Lane Construction continues to be part of Salini and remains focused on transport, tunnelling and water projects, with annual revenue expected at $1.4 billion.
