Kazakhstan sets road repair budget

Kazakhstan has set a budget for road repairs of nearly US$167 million in a bid to ensure that its network remains in good condition. The country has set a target to repair and maintain around 5,000km of local roads/year. In 2017 around 2,000km of roads of national importance were repaired, while 1,800km of roads of national importance will be repaired in 2018. In all, 4,200km of roads will be repaired in Kazakhstan in 2018, according to the country's Ministry of Investment and Development.

The cost of this ambitious target has not been revealed and nor has the source of the funding stream.
